There Can Be Only OneStation

I'm a sucker for gaming tat, so it was no surprise that as soon as the OneStation was shown to me, I bought one. And five game cartridges. After an agonising three week wait, it finally arrived from Hong Kong. Missing one cartridge. However, as will be revealed, that doesn't actually matter.

But wait! I'm getting ahead of myself! You all want to know...

First Impressions: Ghost Squad (Wii)

I've played Ghost Squad through four times now, from beginning to end. So why is this a First Impressions piece and not a review? It's because the game is half an hour long. Maybe a little more the first time, when you're less likely to skip the cut scenes.

A game thirty minutes long? Isn't that a bit, well, rubbish?

No, it's not. It's really very not.

Assassin's Creed

Assassin's Creed is a game of two stories. Two stories linking in two aspects, but separated by almost a thousand years. In the run-up to the game's release, Ubisoft were tight-lipped about the "near-future" part of the game, but the secret came out regardless, so it's no real spoiler mentioning it.

The "Gamecube network adapter" Incident

On January 29th, 2008, Angus Looney posted the following innocent question in uk.games.video.nintendo:

Subject: Gamecube network adapter

Where am I going to get one of these these days?

The plan is to try to play a neworked game of Mario Karts DD between the Wii and the Cube (once it's connected).

Will the Wii support network play for a gamecube game?

The Secret Letters of Animal Crossing

Dear Teddy,
I'm sorry that I missed you today. I was out catching fish and insects and didn't notice the time. I caught a red snapper and some sea bass. Gaston bought one of my sea bass for 3000 bells! He must be a bit stupid. Thank you for sending me a present, but gingham isn't really my bag, I'm afraid.
Best Wishes, deKay

There's a lot of people logging on

It would seem that way, at least. I've been pottering about behind the scenes tweaking permissions and views and stuff, and I've been seeing a lot of you arrive.

And leave again! Without actually creating any content!

Pff. There's plenty to do, you know. The reviews section can't consist solely of games that don't exist, with multiple copies of "the quick brown fox" for the body text. Anyway.

Oh, and if anyone needs to access the old site, you can get to it just by adding "oldsite" to the basic ugvm.org.uk address. I don't know if everything there will be accessable, though, as some of the links may not have been relative.

And where's Tim these days?
